The Fargo Police Department Announces the 2023 Employee of the Year Awards

The FPD recognizes Supervisor, Officer and Civilian Employees of the Year

The Fargo Police Department is recognizing three exceptional employees with 2023 Employee of the Year Awards. Any supervisor, sworn officer or non-sworn employee is eligible to be nominated for an Employee of the Year award. The awards are presented to FPD personnel who demonstrated outstanding service and professionalism while also making a significant contribution to the department in the preceding year.

“The Fargo Police Department is full of officers, supervisors and civilian staff members who are immensely dedicated to their crucial public safety work and to the community they call home. The FPD’s Employee of the Year Awards acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make the department even more exemplary,” stated Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski.

Supervisor of the Year
Sergeant Aldin Golos exemplifies leadership by leading by example and prioritizing the safety of the residents of Fargo. Recognized as the Supervisor of the Year for 2023, Sgt. Aldin Golos is celebrated for his approachable demeanor and steadfast commitment to his team, alongside his involvement in various departmental activities. Sgt. Golos serves as a mentor for newer officers, providing them with opportunities to expand their careers and gain experience across departments. Building strong relationships – both on and off his personal shift – Sgt. Golos goes above and beyond by willingly staying late to assist with staffing, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his colleagues and the department's mission.

Officer of the Year
Officer Zachary Robinson sets the standard for excellence, providing formal leadership and mentorship to his fellow officers during his shift. His commitment to professionalism and work ethic is unparalleled, inspiring those around him to strive for greatness. His dedication to policing and unwavering sense of duty make him a true guardian of Fargo, embodying the essence of a professional officer both on and off duty. Recognized as Officer of the Year for 2023, Zachary Robinson serves as a shining example for all in the policing profession. His bravery, dedication and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community makes him a true hero and a role model for others to follow.

Civilian of the Year
As a member of the Intelligence and Analysis Unit, Jamie Schwan collects valuable community policing information to share during intelligence meetings, contributing to the regional effort to combat crime. Beyond her technical skills, Jamie excels in fostering positive relationships with other criminal intelligence analysts in the region, staying up to date on crime trends and collaborating effectively to address emerging challenges. Recognized as the Civilian of the Year in 2023, Jamie embodies the values of accountability and respect in everything she does.
