Get the Basics

Are you new to computers and want to learn the basics of word processing or find better ways to search the Internet? Take part in a computer basics class. Classes generally last ninety minutes and pre-registration is required due to limited seating. Register online or by calling the Main Library at 241-1492 or the Dr. James Carlson Library at 476-5980.

Computer Basics: This 90-minute, hands-on class will teach you the basics of computers and using the mouse.  Students will receive hands-on instruction on basic mouse and scrolling skills, as well as basic concepts such as desktop, windows, start menu and beginning internet skills.

Computer Basics II: This 90-minute hands-on class builds on the fundamentals in Computer Basics I & will teach you the basics of word processing, such as understanding toolbar functions, creating and spell-checking a document, changing fonts, cutting and pasting, and saving your document. Prerequisite: Computer Basics I or basic computer and mouse experience.
