How to Navigate the Online Catalog

Searching for an item

  1. Click Search Our Catalog
     
  2. Begin searching by typing in a keyword, title, or author and click search
     
  3. To see the details of an item, click on the number of the item
     
  4. To see if the item is available for check-out and where it is located, click on the library name, or click on the title and then "All Items".
     

Renewing an item

  1. Click on Search Our Catalog
     
  2. Click on 'Sign-in', located at the top of the screen
     
  3. Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your library card and your password is your last name)
     
  4. Click on 'My Account'
     
  5. Click on 'Loans/Renew'
     
  6. Click on the number of the item you would like to renew
     
  7. Click 'Renew'
     
  8. In order to renew all items at once, click 'Renew All' on the 'Loans/Renew' page

Placing an item on hold

Note: Only items owned by the Fargo Public Library can be placed on hold.

  1. Click on Search Our Catalog
     
  2. Click on 'Sign-in', located at the top of the screen
     
  3. Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your library card and your password is your last name)
     
  4. Type in a keyword, title, or author and click "Search"
     
  5. Click on the library that owns the item you would like
     
  6. To place it on hold or to have it shuttled to another location click "Request"
     
  7. On the hold page, change your pickup/delivery location to your preference
     
  8. Click 'Go'
     
  9. A letter will then be sent to you when the item is available for pickup

Placing an interlibrary loan (ILL) request

  1. Click on Search Our Catalog
     
  2. Click on 'Sign-in', located at the top of the screen
     
  3. Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your library card and your password is your last name)
     
  4. Click on 'Libraries' and select 'ODIN Union Library Catalog'
     
  5. Type in a keyword, title, author, or subject and click 'Search'
     
  6. Click on the number of the item in the list to view a full record of the item
     
  7. Click on 'Interlibrary Loan Request'
     
  8. Change 'Pickup/Delivery Location' to your preference
     
  9. Click 'Go'
     
  10. A letter will then be mailed to you when the item is available for pickup.
