Public Works
City of Fargo Public Works/Operations is comprised of these departments:
Street
: Street maintenance and cleaning, snow removal, and right-of-way maintenance
Forestry
: Tree pruning, planting, inspections, and an aggressive Dutch Elm Disease Program
Water Mains & Hydrants
: Maintenance of water mains, services, hydrants, etc.
Central Garage
: Purchase and maintenance of the city's fleet
Our mission statement: "To provide service in a timely, efficient manner with respect to the safety of the public and staff."
Jefferson Elementary's first-grade class visits Public Works annually. Students have a great time learning about all the heavy equipment used to maintain our public streets.
