Non-city residents

Currently, the City of Fargo's Household Hazardous Waste Facility accepts household hazardous waste from residents from other communities that utilize the Fargo Landfill (or whose hauler uses the Fargo landfill for disposal of their household garbage). For example, the City of Harwood contracts with Waste Management, Inc. to bring their garbage to the City of Fargo Landfill. Since the program is paid for through the landfill tipping fees, Harwood residents can bring household hazardous waste to our facility.  As of April 2004, the following residents (in addition to Fargo residents) can use our facility:

  • Amenia
  • Argusville
  • Arthur
  • Buffalo
  • Chaffee (rural)
  • Christine
  • Davenport
  • Frontier
  • Gardner
  • Harwood
  • Highland Park
  • Horace
  • Hunter
  • Leonard
  • Mapleton
  • North River
  • Oxbow
  • Prairiewood
  • Reilles Acres
  • Wolverton (rural)

Garbage from Casselton and West Fargo is brought to the transfer station in West Fargo. The station can be reached at 282-3991 and is located at 1620 W. Main Ave. in West Fargo.  Household hazardous waste for Casselton and West Fargo should be brought to the Fargo Household Hazardous Waste facility.  The HHW building is located at 606 - 43 1/2 St. N. in Fargo.  The facility is just east of the landfill and compost site, on the south side of 7th Ave.
