On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson issued a joint proclamation urging support of enduring peace in Palestine and Israel, and advocating for peace and equal rights for all. This proclamation reflects The City of Fargo and the City of Moorhead's commitment to being communities of inclusivity, justice and diplomacy.
"We join our citizens in mourning the loss of innocent lives as a result of the ongoing armed conflict in the Gaza Strip. We believe in the power of unity, compassion and dialogue. Through the signing of this united proclamation, we are sending a clear message that Fargo and Moorhead stand for an enduring peace," stated Mayors Mahoney and Carlson.
